Acid peels – Filorga

Filorga Dermatological Acid Peels are particularly suitable for slowing down skin ageing processes and restoring skin after damaging seasonal environmental factors (winter cold, wind, dry indoor air, etc.). “Filorga Acid Peel is a procedure that evens out skin colour, removes red and brown spots, smoothes fine lines, improves skin elasticity and restores moisture balance to dehydrated skin. The treatment removes the top layer of dead skin cells (stratum corneum), stimulates the regeneration of cells in the deeper layers of the skin and promotes regeneration. As a result, the skin becomes healthier, smoother and firmer.Acid peels | Filorga

“Filorga Acid Peels are glycolic acid peels with additional pigment smoothing agents and vitamins A, C and E.

  • Glycolic acid acts as an exfoliant and removes the dead stratum corneum. Glycolic acid is a naturally derived acid from sugar cane juice. It is one of the mildest acids used in skin care, but it is the fastest absorbed by the skin. Glycolic acid also penetrates into the deepest layers of the skin.
  • Kojic acid and bearberries are effective pigment smoothing agents.
  • Mulberries have anti-inflammatory and vascular protective properties.

Acid peel treatment

The treatment is performed with an acidic solution that removes the top layer of dead cells in the face, neck and décolleté. The acid peel stimulates the skin’s cellular metabolism, allowing the skin to renew itself both on the surface and on the inside. The aim of this treatment is to substantially improve the texture of the skin. It is a popular and safe dermatological skin treatment whose benefits have been well known since antiquity: after bathing in donkey’s milk, Cleopatra’s skin became smoother thanks to the lactic acid in the milk.

Benefits of the acid peel treatment:

  • Gently and effectively corrects fine lines and wrinkles;
  • Eliminates pigment spots and other skin irregularities;
  • It is suitable for restoring the skin’s condition after sun damage;
  • Restores plump, tired complexions;
  • Restores the skin’s moisture balance;
  • Restores skin elasticity and firmness;
  • Effectively treats acne, reduces enlarged facial pores.

Result after Filorga acid peel

“Filorga peels are extremely gentle and the results are quick and visible, with no post-treatment period required: no dryness, no stretching, no peeling of the surface layer of the skin. The next day, you can use your usual face care and make-up products. After the treatment, the face becomes brighter and more radiant, the pores shrink and the skin tone becomes smoother. The complexion becomes soft, smooth and enriched with moisture.

Composition of the products

The exclusive GLYKOPEEL® formula, which includes 18 active ingredients (glycolic and kojic acids, mulberry, bearberry, vitamins, brown algae, etc.), creates a synergistic effect, thus ensuring a rapid and long-lasting effect on the signs of ageing (pallor, unevenness) and a gradual increase in effectiveness (correction of wrinkles, pigmentation spots).

The peeling procedure

The strength of the acid used during the treatment is selected and adapted by the specialist according to your skin type and indications.

The peel lasts about 15 minutes and consists of several steps:

  • Cleansing and preparation for the peeling procedure;
  • Application of a glycolic acid product that removes the top layer of skin. The glycolic acid is held for about 5 minutes. You may start to feel a sensation of warmth and heat, but this is completely normal. In very rare cases, the procedure is slightly painful.
  • Reaction phase, during which the glycolic acid penetrates the upper layers of the skin
  • Neutralisation and moisturisation phase, during which irritated skin is soothed and a state of skin comfort is quickly restored.
  • The acid peel course consists of 3 to 5 weekly treatments. The course can be repeated twice a year.

Is acid peeling suitable for everyone?

In principle, acid peels are suitable for all skin types. However, if you have darker skin, there is a higher risk of darkening of the skin after an acid peel, i.e. post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Therefore, if you have a darker skin colour and want to improve your skin condition, it is recommended that you consult an aesthetician or a dermatologist for other less aggressive treatments to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation.

Acid peels are also not recommended:

  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding;
  • If the skin is prone to scarring;
  • If there are bacterial or viral skin infections;
  • If the skin is damaged;
  • If you have skin conditions such as psoriasis, dermatitis or eczema, or if you are taking medications that make your skin more sensitive.
