Hyaluronic injections

Correction of skin wrinkles with hyaluronic acid fillers

In our clinic, professional specialists perform hyaluronic acid injections to reduce wrinkles.

Filler injections are minimally invasive aesthetic procedures designed to reduce wrinkles, lighten dark brows, smooth out scars and other skin irregularities, plump cheeks and lips, and enhance the facial oval. This is why filler injections are quite often called beauty injections. Dermal filler injections are an excellent alternative to plastic surgery to achieve fast, visible, long-lasting results, which is why patient feedback on this procedure is excellent. They are very effective procedures, and their popularity is due to the fact that no special preparation is required, the injections can be carried out in the doctor’s office immediately during the consultation, and the results can be seen immediately or within a few days.

In aesthetic dermatology, fillers are available in short- and long-acting forms:

  • Short-term fillers are safe, rarely cause side effects, but are absorbed by the body over time, requiring repeated injection procedures. These include injections of hyaluronic acid, collagen, fat and calcium hydroxyapatite fillers.
  • Long-lasting fillers contain synthetic additives, usually silicone. These fillers often have side effects and are not absorbed by the body.

Hyaluronic acid filler injections

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body’s soft tissues, skin, cartilage, joints and eyes. Hyaluronic acid maintains the moisture and elasticity of the skin, tissues and joints. As we age, the production of naturally produced hyaluronic acid decreases and the skin becomes thinner, drier, stretched and plumper. Sun exposure, visits to tanning salons, an unbalanced diet, stress and various diseases also cause a decrease in hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid injections are designed to:

  • Restore the skin’s moisture balance and elasticity;
  • To rejuvenate the face, giving it a luminous appearance;
  • To reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (around the eyes, lips, nose);
  • To plump and contour the lips;
  • Facial contouring;
  • Cheek volumising;
  • Smoothing scars;
  • Nose tip correction;
  • Osteoporosis, joint treatment;
  • Effective hyaluronic acid treatment for hair loss.

What do I need to know about the hyaluronic acid procedure?

  • During the procedure, the injection sites are lubricated with a local anaesthetic if necessary and hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin using a fine needle;
  • The procedure takes between 30 and 60 minutes. The effect is visible immediately and lasts between 1 and 2 years;
  • Before and after the procedure, it is recommended not to take blood thinners, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, avoid sun exposure, sunbeds and saunas;
  • The skin may be temporarily red and swollen after the procedure. Minor bruising may occur;
  • Hyaluronic acid dermal filler injections can only be performed by dermatologists and plastic surgeons;
  • The cost of hyaluronic acid injections depends on the area to be corrected and the desired result and the amount of product.

Hyaluronic acid is one of the main components of human connective tissue and is able to absorb water like a sponge. This keeps the skin moist, maintains the volume of the skin tissues and keeps the skin firm. Over time, the skin is exposed to the sun and air pollution, the skin’s ability to produce hyaluronic acid and maintain moisture levels decreases, and collagen and elastin fibres lose their structure, leading to the formation of wrinkles.

Our clinic uses hyaluronic acid fillers from renowned companies such as Allerga (Juvederm Ultra), Genethia (Haequeo), Filorga for wrinkle correction. The latest technologies used in the production of these products have made it possible to create hyaluronic acid, which is characterised by its extraordinary elasticity, so that the filler is evenly distributed in the skin. They are safe, well tolerated by the body and dissolve over time. Allergic reactions and other known side effects (e.g. formation of granulomas) are therefore practically non-existent.

During the procedure, the hyaluronic acid filler is injected into the skin, increasing the volume of the skin and smoothing or reducing wrinkles. Before the procedure, the injection area is treated with an anaesthetic cream.

The effect can be observed immediately after the procedure. The duration of the effect depends on the individual characteristics of the person, e.g. age, skin texture, lifestyle, and lasts about a year.

Indications:

  • Deep and not so deep wrinkles (nasolabial folds, between the eyebrows, around the lips, forehead, etc.)
  • scars
  • contouring of the face, with injections in areas such as the cheeks, chin, etc.)

Contraindications:

  • if you are particularly sensitive to hyaluronic acid
  • autoimmune diseases (e.g. systemic lupus erythematosus) or diabetes mellitus
  • angina
  • joint rheumatism
  • a tendency of the body to form keloid scars
  • pregnancy, breastfeeding
  • age <18 years

Side effects of hyaluronic acid

In rare cases, redness and swelling may occur at the site of the treatment, which quickly subsides.

After the treatment, cosmetics should not be used for 12 hours, and you should not go to the sauna, sauna, sunbathing or solarium for at least 2 weeks. Take care not to allow infection to enter the areas where the injections were made.
