Your skin must always be clean. That’s why cleansing is a basic skin care procedure. Dust and residual make-up, mixed with sebaceous gland secretions, clog pores and promote the appearance of acne and comedones (blackheads). Daily facial cleansing helps the skin to stay smooth and clean. However, the skin also needs deep cleansing. Special techniques and masks help to cleanse the skin’s pores more deeply, removing the layer of dead cells. If your skin is plagued by inflammation and dandruff, this is a sign that it is polluted and in need of cleansing.
Mechanical facial cleansing is a hygienic procedure for the facial skin. Mechanical facial cleansing helps to resolve the problems of polluted skin. The result of the treatment is immediately visible. In order to minimise any questions, here is some relevant information regarding mechanical facial cleansing.
What is mechanical facial cleansing for?
- Facial cleansing is available for both women and men;
- it is an excellent treatment for teenagers who are often plagued by acne;
- suitable for all skin types;
- an effective treatment for clogged pores, blackheads and small acne.
Before the procedure
At least one week is recommended before professional mechanical facial cleansing:
- Avoid any exfoliation procedures;
- avoid tanning beds and direct sunlight.
Procedure flow
Acne clearing and pressing at home should be avoided, as the facial skin is not only traumatised, but the risk of skin infection and scarring increases. This should be avoided as it is usually counterproductive. Mechanical facial cleansing performed by a professional aesthetician in a clinic consists of a number of important steps that allow the desired results to be achieved;
- during the demake-up process, all make-up and impurities on the face are removed;
- the most appropriate method of exfoliation is selected according to the skin type. The exfoliation process removes squamous skin cells and prepares the skin for the next stages of the treatment;
- the skin is exfoliated with a cool scrub lasting up to 10 minutes. This opens up the pores and makes the skin ready for deep mechanical cleansing. This is very important in order to minimise irritation of the facial skin and sometimes minimal pain is felt during the procedure;
- mechanical cleansing of the facial skin. The main stage of the procedure is the removal of various skin formations such as acne, comedones and miliums;
- disinfection of the face with cleansed and open facial pores;
- darsonvalisation, i.e. the blood circulation is stimulated by a special device with an electric current for a faster healing process, which acts as a local antiseptic to reduce inflammation;
- a soothing or pore-tightening mask or a moisturising mask is selected according to the need and type of skin, and the treatment is completed with a cream suitable for the skin.
After the treatment
On the same day after the treatment, there may be some redness of the skin, which gradually subsides and usually by the next day only local redness is visible in some areas of the former acne. During the healing process, there may be some slight chafing of the skin, so you should remember to take good care of your skin at home.
It is very important to mention that moisturising the skin after the procedure is important to speed up the healing process. For more information on the skin care suitable for your skin type, please contact your aesthetician after the treatment.
